Not Your Typical Email Blast

Four days ago, Doug Jones stunned the nation by declaring victory over Roy Moore, becoming the first Democrat to win a U.S. seat in the state of Alabama since 1992.  At Politics Reborn, we didn't want to flood you with one more uplifting email that simply asks you to donate. Instead, I want to speak from the heart and write the following:

We should have tremendous joy in the fact someone as despicable as Roy Moore will not be serving in the U.S. Senate. However, we must not become complacent now that the election has ended.

I have been involved in this field for some time now and I have seen how our obsessions with elections have often hindered our ability to effectively organize. Elections can not be the be-all and end-all for social movements.

At Politics Reborn, we are trying to do something different. At Politics Reborn, our goal is to build a sense of community and give power back to the people. Instead of simply sending out mass email blasts asking members to donate or sign an online petition, we make more personal asks such as asking members to schedule a conference call with us so we can better understand who they are and how we can truly empower them.

We organize Film Nights and Book Discussions so we can form more effective social connections with our members, while becoming more educated organizers.

We have helped empower various members become leaders in their community and we are hoping you will strengthen this organization and sign up to volunteer if you haven't already done so.

If you have signed up to volunteer, you can always take the time to fill out this survey as well so we can better understand how to better empower you.

Before you know it, it will be 2018 and we need this social movement to elevate to the next level. Signing online petitions and attending marches can not be the last step to creating an effective social movement.

We need your help registering voters, educating and engaging your community to become politically involved, and changing the national consciousness.

Due to the holidays, Politics Reborn has decided to change its first meeting in Long Island which was originally scheduled for 12-17-17. The event has been rescheduled to January 8th, 2018. Details and RSVP here
